Suggest Remedies For Post Surgical Problems After Fallopian Tube Removal

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: I had surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy on 4/6 and they removed my L fallopian tube & ovary. This morning, while taking a shower I noticed my entire L lip was swollen and purplish black. I just got home and while undressing for bed, I noticed the swelling and color had worsened. It's very tender & when something touches it or I'm in a certain position, there's an extreme tingling numbness. I have talked to my doctor, but she just said nothing that she knows of from surgery could have caused it. I don't know what to do!!

Brief Answer:
Strangulated hernia should be ruled out. Contact with general surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for writing to us. I understand your concern.

I have reviewed attached image. In my point of view, above clinical features are NOT directly related with surgery of ectopic pregnancy.

However, we need to confirm post surgical complication (if any), Indirect inguinal or Femoral hernia as a result of weakness of deep inguinal ring or femoral canal respectively. Strangulation or obstructive feature should be ruled out as there is tenderness and extreme tingling numbness.

It may be surgical emergency. I suggest you to contact with general surgeon or go to ER of local hospital for clinical examination and proper management.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.
