Question : I suddenly in the night have periodic pain, coming at uncertain intervales, in my lower right side, below and a little to the rear of my rib cage.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to Right Ureteric stone.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen with radiation can be due to right sided ureteric stone .Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue. It will also comment about Appendix which is present at the right lower part of the abdomen.
If Ultrasound is normal, it could be musculoskeletal pain.
Till investigation,I prescribe Anti spasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine twice daily to my patients with similar complaints.
Please consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound abdomen.
