Brief Answer:
recurrent UTI needs investigation. No relation with amitripytiline.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.

There's no relation between depression and UTI.
Amitriptyline isn't known to cause UTI.

If she's having recurrent UTI's, she should undergo certain tests,to find cause for it after a proper examination, by an Urologist..
1. urine routine and culture.
2. blood routine,creatinine, RBS,LFT,and platelets.
3. ultrasound scan -KUB with residual urine.

According to these reports, proper treatment can be advised.
Till the reports come, she should take an antibiotic, like quinolone twice daily.
Drink about 10 glasses fluids daily.

You may send the reports here, for an expert opinion.
