Suggest Remedies For Recurring Seizure And Back Pain
Question: question is below in what have you already tried. I wrote it in the wrong space
Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised and consult a neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Seizures can be precipitated by anti-inflammatory drugs like tramadol, mefanemic acid or muscle relaxant like tizanidine.
In a patient with past history of seizure, it can reoccur without any relationship to drugs.
For back pain other pain killers can be used.
Local pain reliever ointment can be used.
Emg is not an urgent investigation.
You should get her evaluated by a neurologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further queries.

You said that there would be no reason to have an emergency emg right? She has been seen by a neurologist and he ordered the MRI knowing she already had a herniated disc in lumbar spine. She said he was checking for "hyper herniation" but he said MRI was clear so then she said he ordered emergency emg to check for other nerve damage but she has my friend so worried because she is saying that she probably has ALS or MS. Could her symptoms be caused in any way by her weight and sedentary lifestyle?
Also dr gave her percaset and she said that it didn't help much at all. Percaset is a very strong med and for her to say it didn't help, I don't understand.
Why would dr prescribe an anti imflammatory med for nerve pain?

Brief Answer:
Continue pain killers and drugs as advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Pain killers may be required for nerve root compression too for improvement and early recovery.
Additionally pregabalin or amitryptiline or gabapentin can be used for neuropathic pain.
Emg may be required for diagnosis of radiculopathy.
Als possibility is less likely if it involves only lower limbs and associated with predominantly back pain.
