Question : I was stung by many wasps a week ago. Some of the sting sites are still red and itchy with firm lumps under the skin...what can I do?

Brief Answer:
This will resolve slowly. Apply calamine lotion for itches!

Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this many wasp stung you suffered. The hard lumps and redness are as a result of the inflammatory reaction that occurred following the wasps incident. This will resolve but requires more time than a week. Generally, 2-3weeks is often the average time required in severe reactions. For the itches, if that is very bothersome, I will recommend calamine lotion for relief. If it is not, you can as well not necessarily apply it. Resolution would be spontaneous and need not further aggressive measures.
