Question : my mother in law who is 94 has a redness in her upper leg on one side she has congenital heart diease should we be concerned

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your mother's in law clinical scenario raises suspicions on a possible lower limbs blood vessel disorder (most probably a thrombotic obstruction).

Coming to this point, it is necessary to consult without delay with her attending doctor for a careful physical examination and some additional tests:

- complete blood count,
- PCR,
- ESR,
- coagulation tests,
- lower limbs blood vessels Doppler ultrasound

A new review of her cardiac status and therapy is also necessary.
