The cramps are all long my side not in my chest nor in my back .....high up midway and lower sides.I spoke to my cardiologist about them thinking it could have been something to do with my heart.(I had a heart attack in 1997) no problems since then....I spoke with my lung dr. He also said that it didn't involve my lungs. I do have a bad siactia nerve in my lower back. But that happened fifteen years ago.the cramps have been bothering me about a year or maybe two. Please I don't know what type of dr. to see or any idea what is wrong. I will say that my siactia nerve get to a point when I stand more than5or10mins. It gets to a point that I can't straighten up it makes me bend in pain at your waist.help me I really need help. Thank you No test or any dr. Wanted to take me serious.like it was no big deal, but I am having trouble reaching for things. Stretching. And even in my sleep they will wake me up. Thank you again for any help. Ill see what ever dr you suggest.
Brief Answer:
Please consult a Neurosurgeon to start with.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
All the symptoms you have mentioned indicate towards a Neuro-muscular cause hence I would advise you to see a Neurosurgeon and go for MRI of the whole spine to get an appropriate diagnosis so that a proper management can be done.

I didn't mention that I had IBS-D not as bad as it used to be sometimes the cramps along my ribs hurt sometimes whenever I am having a BM. But not always. And I have had irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea for six or seven years....the cramps haven't been there except for the past year ,years and a half. I didn't think of the IBS til just now. I will see the dr that was suggested and have that MRI also.thanks for your help. Jolinda Cloward
Brief Answer:
Stress and anxiety are also important factors...
Detailed Answer:
Presence of IBS indicate that there is a role of stress and/or anxiety, which in turn can accentuate the pains problems.
It would be better to look after stress and anxiety and a control over these can give you additional benefits.
