Question : Pain comes on when standing or walking, can not walk a single block without pain becoming severe enough to stop for a minute, but can ride bicycle for 30 minutes without any pain at all. Rest allows pain to go away over time, but comes back whenget on feet again. Taking 2 aleve 2X a day to try to manage pain, but only slightly reduces pain when walking. Just started in the last 2 months. Prior to that would walk for an hour at least 3 times a week without any pain at all.

Why would nerve compression not be affected when I ride the bicycle but be affected when walking? 2. Brief Answer:
You are having nerve compression in spine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for replying. I am sure that you are having nerve compression in spine. This is due to discuss herniation. MRI can confirm the diagnosis. You have pain during sneezing or coughing because it increases pressure in spine and that lead to more pressure on nerve. When you are riding your bicycle you are bending forward so it causes less nerve compression. As far as management is concerned you need to get MRI then according to severity you might need physiotherapy or surgery. You can share reports with me. I can offer you treatment according to that. Till then you can take tablet pregabalin m at nighttime.
Thanks
