Question : I sprained my ankle about 10 days ago. The ankle is healing because the pain is very mild now. For the past six days my foot is quite swollen. Should I see a doctor, wrap it with an ace bandage or do something else?
Brief Answer:
Consult an orthopedic surgeon
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
In my opinion .if the swelling is persisting or increasing or not going away , It will be better to consult an orthopedic surgeon , get the x rays . Ice bandage / anything else may not help much.
For all my patients of moderate to severe ankle sprain I recommend plaster immobilization for minimum period of three weeks
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
