Question : Thank you. I did miss write that I was on shots. I only had one shot and started on oral antibiotics the same day. I was feeling better yesterday and so I did golf but it did increase the swelling. The Dr gave me a prescription of antibiotics fo 10 days and when I saw him Thursday gave me one for another 12 days when these are gone. The pain is really concentrated in the knee cap and there are some small elongated pockets of infection I think that are infected areas that almost look like the cloud cause a problem. I am most concerned about the knee joint as I am usually fairly active and walk daily and hike a lot. It is tough to sta down but am going to ice more often and try to do some of chores between the icing. Always feels better when I ice. Do you think at this point I would need to see another kind of Dr to look more at my knee or some one to do any kind of blood work?
Also are there any creams that could help with swelling and pain, swelling is severe into ankle also!

Brief Answer:
NO! Be less aggressive and more observant at this time!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed your information fully. Cellulitis needs no laboratory tests for confirmation unless something else comes up. I will like to know the various antibiotics that you are on. Also, feel free to upload an image for review if need be.

At this point, I kindly suggest that stay well rested and do minimal physical activity involving the affected joint until resolution sets in. That will hep with the healing process as well. There is certainly no damage to the knee joint at this time unless it becomes a complication which it is not the case at this time.

Do not see another doctor. Do not request for any more tests unless something else comes up. Continue with the ongoing management plan.

I wish you well and do keep me well updated.
