Question : My partner woke up choking last night. Throat filled with flem- had much flem to expel. This morning chest throat sore also left arm.

Sudden choking attack with excessive phlegm are seen commonly with two conditions.
1. Congestive heart failure
2. Angioedema (due to allergy).
Since he is having age more than 50 years, we should first rule out heart diseases for this.
So please let me know
1. Is he having diabetes or hypertension?
2. Is he having any heart diseases?

No diabetes or hypertension or known heart disease. Full checkup two years ago. Forgot to mention had indigestion with incident.
