Question: Hello doc. How are you doing?
My mother have seen 50 XXXXXXX She is suffering from several health problems. The major problem is weak digestive system. She is too much weak since birth and having very weak immune system. She looks like 70 years old lady. Her weight is around 40kg.
We tried many ways to improve health but did not get positive result. What exact problem does she have? Could I see my mother healthy and happy? Please help our family.

It is not possible to determine the exact condition without a careful history backed with clinical examination and appropriate investigations. However, I can definitely give you general guidance on how to keep her healthy. Ageing occurs when the body is unable to absorp certain amino acids (smaller units that make up proteins) and in the process 'steal' those from the extracellular matrix or the non-cellular structure that builds our body. THis leads to weakness of the structure and changes like wrinkling that makes one look older, as in the case of your mother. In such a case giving her chicken broth a couple of times a day should help. The diet needs to contain plenty of fibers and regular morning walk and exercise is very important. Meals should be small but frequent. Colorful vegetables and fruits contain antioxidants that boost immunity and hence should be taken in bulk. Overall, lifestyle change would play an important role in giving her a healthy life.

Thank you doctor for this valuable answer and time. As you suggested to take chicken broth on daily basis, she can not take it daily for some reasons. Could you please suggest any other supplement which can be effective as same. Is there any tablet or syrup which can boost her digestive system or increase production of growth hormone or make those certain essential amino acids which are lacking. We checked my mother up to homeopathic, medical doctors but did not get positive result.

Thanks for writing back. You can clarify if your mother is a vegetarian and if she takes eggs or fish. Based on your input I can guide you further. I would not suggest supplements. If they were to help, you would already have been benefited.

Medicines will not help in boosting her digestive system or other systems. Rather, the other steps that I mentioned, should help.
