Question : 86 year old male. Have taken testosterone injections until agree 23 ,then full exam at OSU prescribed Horomen implantations every 4 months which I did for about 10 yrs., then back to testosterone shots until about 75 yrs of age when doctor decreased injections to mg every two weeks. This has resulted in my not receiving enough hormone to not have erections for intercourse. I believe doctor prescribed lower do age for something in blood analysis, i.e. too much iron? Have tried about 10 types of mail order rx's , also prescription medicines such as calysis, etc. none provided any assistance for E D assistance. What should I do or try or should I eek medical specialist, what type in XXXXXXX Ohio? Thank you! S A

Brief Answer:
You ned to consult qualified XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been on Testosterone Replacement Therapy since many years and now facing problem of Erectile Dysfunction.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem
1) What are your recent Testosterone levels (Total and free)?
2) Are you diabetic ?
3) Do you have hypertension?

The cause of your ED seems to be mostly vascular in origin.
With advancing age there is generalized atherosclerosis which also involves penile arteries supplying blood to erectile tissue in penis The reduced blood supply (Vascular insufficiency )to erectile tissue is common cause of Ed at this age .

Please consult qualified Urologist or XXXXXXX and get following basic tests done to find out the cause of your Ed.
1) Testosterone levels in blood
2) Color Doppler Ultrasound scanning of penis. This is very important and definitive test to confirm/rule out the cause of your Ed being vascular in origin (Vascular insufficiency).

Further treatment will depend upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
