Question : My 2.6 year old swallowed 0.5 Xanax. It's been an hour and he has eaten. He's acting a bit goofy or high but still alert and awake. Just lethargic. I contacted poison control. Anything else I should do?

Thanks for the query

The effect of Xanax will remain for about 6-8 hours. Please do not leave him unsupervised during this period. It is best to put him to sleep until the effect wears off. Xanax is a relatively safe drug and should not cause any problems at the dose which he has swallowed. Please be careful with precription drugs from next time onwards
