Brief Answer:
For how long has this been going on? How is your urination?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this kidney ache and the soreness that you have reported. I have reviewed the information fully. The fact that you can get relief from massage suggests that this is probably a problem with the muscles in this area and not the kidney or the urine collecting passages. I will like to know if you have been involved in any structured physical activities and most especially activities that are more than the usual for you.

My immediate suspicion is a muscle strain. For this, I will recommend Voltarene ointment for massages thrice daily. This will relief the pain and also avoid side effects that are common with orally taken drugs such as Aleve. Also, keep hydrated and exercise regularly. If this fails to address your pain, I will push for further examination and laboratory investigations to see if there is some other thing we are missing out on. Please, also provide details on the

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

This has been ongoing for 12 years but appears to be getting worse. I have had kidney stones over the past 20 years and on the third episode where they had to remove the stone the doctor put a shunt in from mykidney to my bladder and when he removed it it snapped and the snapping caused scar tissue he then had to do another surgery to remove the scar tissue and I think that weaken the tubing from the kidney to the bladder. Hydration and exercise seems to stretch the muscle tissue out and remove any compression on the tubing but I think that's where the tremous come from. When I haven't hydrated enough or when I haven't exercised enough or stretched enough or I've been to secondary that's when the tremors and the aching seems to be worse. Is there any chance that being compressed by weight and that would cause the soreness? I don't get kidney stones like I used to because I drink more water but I'm worried that the damage is done and continue because the tubing was so delicate. I have spoken to my doctor about this and they are a general practitioner and really had no insight. As the symptoms come and go I can't really pinpoint any one thing but that's what I've narrowed down over the years that it's lack of hydration, exercise or compression from sitting that causes it to ache and yesterday was a long day at work. Thank you I look forward to hearing from you

Brief Answer:
I will suggest you do a test to visualize teh urinary passages!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about all what you have experienced. Your concern is real and the integrity of this collecting system remains a question to be addressed.I have the feeling that the scar tissue is preventing normal movement which allows for urine flow. Distension might be causing this symptom.

My advise is that you get a test to visualize the kidneys and all the urinary passages. This also informs us of the functioning of this system. This way, we will be sure of the integrity and functioning of the entire system. This test is commonly referred to as intravenous pyelography. Ask your doctor about this and hear what he says.

For now, continue hydration and exercises as they make you feel better while we try to identify the cause and address fully.

Keep me updated about this and let's reason it out together. Until next, I wish you well.
