Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Bright red blood in toilet paper ,indicate rectal bleeding. Most common causes for rectal bleeding are : hemorrhoids and anal fissure (small tear in the skin of anal area),which is very painful.
In most if cases ,these conditions heal on their own in few days to weeks. If the discomfort is great ,then treatment is needed to ease the inflammation.
Constipation can aggravate both these conditions. It is important to make some dietary changes (eat foods rich in fiber and drink plenty of water ).Avoid straining during defecation.
To relieve the discomfort you can try sitz baths twice a day.An anesthetic cream that contains Lidocaine ,is very helpful to ease the pain .You can find it over the counter
If the symptoms continue ,I would suggest to consult your doctor for proper evaluation and treatment.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any question.
Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
