Brief Answer:
I recommend performing a complete check up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern, and would explain that it is necessary to perform a comprehensive differential diagnosis between different disorders that may mimic this clinical situation (a metabolic disorder, cardiac insufficiency, an immunological disorder, depression, etc.).

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG, a cardiac ultrasound, a chest x ray and some blood lab tests:

- complete blood count (for chronic anemia)
- inflammation tests (PCR, sedimentation rate- for immunological disorders)
- kidney and liver function tests
- fasting glucose
- thyroid hormone levels (a thyroid dysfunction could be related to this symptomatology)
- blood electrolytes
- cortisol plasma levels (to exclude possible adrenal gland dysfunction)

Further tests may be needed to establish the diagnosis, if any of the above tests results abnormal.

But, if everything results OK, the most probable diagnosis would be just depression (a prolonged stress can cause this disorder). In such a case I would advise consulting with a specialist of this field to find the proper therapy based on your clinical situation.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
