Brief Answer:
Anxiety attacks can present as a heart attack

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood your concerns.

Anxiety can present as difficulty in breathing, chest pains, tremors, sweating, increased heart rate etc. similar to the presentation of heart attack. Stress may be responsible for this.

All the investigation which came normal also favors anxiety attack. So I suggest you to take him to psychiatrist and get evaluated. Antidepressant will work and he will be alright. Cymbalata is a good drug for this but in my patient I would have given sertraline or paroxetine.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then feel free to ask.

Wish you good health.

Thank you for your prompt response deeply appreciate
He has been going to psychiatrist for years and none of these medications which they keep experimenting with works for him. The cymbalta he had been taken for the pass nine months is not releiving him of his fear & anxiety issues thats why he has stopped taking it These medications are just that, they help for a while but then they stop , then the psychiatrist another one and so on and on it goes with no relief to his problem and now chest pains are beginning to manifest wchich he never use to get before.

I received an email to my follow up question but when I visit the dashboard am not seeing the answer to the follow up question. Please direct me again.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Illness must be complicated

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing again.

I feel that if your brother is receiving the antidepressants and other drugs and not improving then he must have some severe psychiatric illness. He may not have simple depression and anxiety, that is why he is not responding.

His age is 55 years. Does he have diabetes or hypertension or any other medical illness?

Does he have fear of someone that somebody will harm or kill him?
Does he remain alone and aloof all the time?
Does he have repetitive behavior? Repeated hand washing? Repeated checking over door or other similar doubts?
Does he favor cleanliness?
Do you know about the onset of the symptoms? How they have started? Was he under any stress before the onset of psychiatric illness?
Does he have seizures or episodes of unconsciousness or history of serious head injury?

Give answers to above questions. I am waiting for reply. You can attach the copy of treatment records with questions.
Wish you good health.
