Suggest Remedy For Chronic Headache While Suffering From Clinical Depression

Question: I've recently been getting chronic headaches after 15 days with tylenol, ibuprofen, and excedrin did not work. I went to the ED to get checked. I got a CT scan, it came out negative. They just gave me ketorolac which slightly helped but the headache appeared the next day. I got an appointment with a primary and had my labs checked. Everything was fine. Urine sodium was slightly elevated. His recommendation was to eat healthier and keep water to about 2 liters. I've been logging when I get headaches and they appear in the morning consistently. I am thinking that I do not get restorative sleep. I never wake up fully rested and I have excessive daytime sleepiness. I told the primary doctor that I had been dealing with clinical depression that is unresolved and I haven't been prescribed anything yet. Im waiting on my appointment with my psychiatrist. He said it was unrelated. The types of headaches are all varied, sometimes squeezing, sometimes pulsing, and at times it feels piercing. the main location it affects are in the back of the brain. What is your opinion on the situation?

Brief Answer:
it is possible that it is linked to sleep

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the headaches are linked to inadequate or incomplete sleep, sleep difficulties are one of the causes of headaches particularly migraine headaches.

In addition to depression, your doctor may want to determine if you have sleep apnea, if you fit the profile, because this causes daytime sleepiness and is also linked to depression.
It has also been linked to morning headaches as well.

If this is ruled out as a possible link ,there are criteria, called the IHS criteria that help to pinpoint the type of headache a person is having.
There are criteria for migraines, tension ,cluster headaches.
You can look at these and see if they fit into any of the categories mentioned.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
