Suggest Remedy For Cold And Cough In A Child While On LC Tablet
Question: My son is 7 years old and his weight is 18 kgs. For the last 2 months, he is having continuous cold and cough. I hv contacted a child specialist and a month back she has asked my child to take montier LC kid tablet for one month. During these one month there was no symptoms of cold but the day the same course finished , he started running nose and coughing especially for 1 to 2 hours in night. One thing I want to highlight that because of fear, my wife is not getting him bath properly and she is not washing his head for long. Not allowing him to use air conditioning and outside play. Is the regular cold and coughing at night is an allergic? He is not coughing daily. Only coughing once we observe him mild cold or sneezing. Pl suggest some remedies.

And he is improving with montair LC kid. Montair LC is having levocetrizine and montelukast. Montelukast is anti allergic drug. Levocetrizine is antihistamine drug. Both are used in allergic conditions.
Since he is improving with montair LC, possibility of allergic disease is more in his case.
Seasonal allergy in winters is also common.
He is having only night time symptoms. So possibility of allergy to bed sheets, pillow covers or blankets etc is there.
So please let me know

2. Is he having symptoms in every winters?

Dear Sir, thanks for your response. Yes , he is having this problem started this year only. He coughing between 8pm to 9 pm before going to bed. He is having this coughing once he is having cold. I am more worried because he is not recovering from cold. His motntire lc course was finished on last Wednesday - 11th Dec and he was cold again on Friday then we hv given him wickorl syrup for 3 days. then he was ok till day before yesterday and again symptoms of cold yesterday. He was also coughing yesterday. Also I want to highlight one case. due to this fear, my wife is not allowing him to bath properly and she has not washed his head since long and also not allowing him in air conditioning and outings. Is my wife ok doing the same? In Apr 2015, I hv moved to XXXXXXX from XXXXXXX and hear temperature is not that cold. He has a tendency of more cold( once in 30-45 days) in winter but this time the cold is not going fully and bigger problem is his coughing frequently during cold. hope I have given you details informations. Need your suggestions. I am bit worried for his cold and coughing.

And to confirm this we need to get done complete blood count (fir absolute eosinophil count) and serum IgE level.
If any of these is raised then he is confirmed to have allergic disease.
Best treatment of allergy is identification of allergen and if possible complete avoidance of it. Common allergens are dust, pollens, mites, animal fur, smoke etc. Cold weather and wind can also trigger allergy. So better to avoid air conditioning.
No harm in bathing. So tell your wife to bath him properly.
