Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Both synprotik and alpha keto analogue are not known to cause constipation.
2. Possibly additional factors like low fiber diet, dehydration, inadequate sleep and sedentary lifestyle could be the causes.
3. Taking a laxative is definitely helpful during these times. However, other modifications are necessary.
4. Adequate hydration, at least 4-6 liters of water, if necessary more along with diet rich in fruits and vegetables to increase fiber is essential. Sleep should be there for at least 8-9 hours at nights between 10-6 minimum. Early morning warm water intake and mild walking exercises could help in improving gastrointestinal motility.
5. Cremaffin is known to be helpful, particularly if any previous cardiovascular risk is present. You can start with cremaffin along with lifestyle changes as above. It should be helpful. If not and fiber intake is low, then isphagulla husk can be restarted.
6. Remember, bowel movements, twice a week is also adequate. If stools are hard, can be softened with increased hydration and if necessary, cremaffin.
7. No need to stop any medications.
Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
