Suggest Remedy For Discomfort While Wearing Lenses

Question: Hello,
I have a follow up Question for Dr. Dadapeer. If you can remember that my last question was related to Keratoconous, where I was adviced to use RGP lenses with DK 90.
I got a new pair of lenses made. The lens for the right eye fits properly, whereas the left one is hurting my eyes badly. I can feel the prick.

However the last pair that I was using, never caused any discomfort. Now I am wearing the new lens in my right eye and the old lens in my left eye and I feel comfortable.

Parameters for the right eye has not changed. For the left eye, the power has changed slightly and the diameter has decreased from 9.2 to 9.1.

My question is - The prick that I am feeling, is it because of change of diameter or the edges of the lens are not smooth and needs correction by the optician.

Thank you for the answer.

Regards

Brief Answer:
The diameter of the lens needs to be checked.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

Thank you for the follow up question.

I reviewed the history. The pricking sensation while using contact lenses is characteristically caused by allergy to contact lenses. Since you are having this pricking sensation with only new contact lens and it is in only left eye, this seems to be related to contact lens itself.
Using a contact lenses smaller in diameter can cause tight fitting of the contact lenses and can cause discomfort.
Hence I advice you to consult your optometrist for verification of the base curve and diameter of the contact lenses with that required for your eye. Usually there will not be any problem with the edges or finishing of the edges with the branded contact lenses, hence I think this should not be a problem.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
