Question : My mom is 70 years old and woke up dizzy this morning. That has never happened before. She is the care giver for my father, who has Alzheimer's. Do I need to get her checked out?

Brief Answer:
There's no need to rush.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, just one episode of dizziness doesn't necessarily need medical attention.

Blood pressure should be measured first three times a day for a couple of days.

Your mother should have medical evaluation if changes beyond normal values of blood pressure, episodes of dizziness repeat several times and if there show other symptoms such headaches, nausea or vomiting, etc.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Take care.
