Suggest Remedy For Dizzy Spells And Burning Sensation In Throat

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Jul 2015
Question: i have had a weird feeling lately. I get some dizzy spells, and then I am fine. I feel like my head is hot and I breath heat out of my nose, like my nose inside is on fire. I sometimes get a burning hot throat, and I feel tired at certain times. I have had blood work which showed all normal, and have had xrays and cat scans as well. which showed normal. what can this be?

Brief Answer:
viral syndrome

Detailed Answer:
It sounds like you may be in the early stages of a viral infection. This may not show up on blood tests, xrays or CT scans. It is also possible that you are in the early stages of some sort of autoimmune disorder which can just make you feel bad and have non-specific symptoms early in the course of the disease. If you develop joint pains or other symptoms then I suggest to see a rheumatologist to rule out autoimmune diseases.
I hope you are feeling better soon,

I have been feielinf this way for months now. I went to Rheumy becauS I had ANA POSITIVE. She tested for lupus but she said it came up not positive but I hear this is hard to rest for and people don't know they have it for years. So frustrating! My rheumatoid them said I have fibro . She put me on meds but I haven't taken them yet. But I just don't know what to expect. I have the two tender spots on my chest when she checked me and I do have burning and fatigue and a whole bunch of other things and on top of it depressed by I feel this way!

Brief Answer:
glad you have seen rheumatology

Detailed Answer:
It certainly could be fibromyalgia. Hopefully the medication will relieve some of your symptoms. Exercise and stretching are very important for fibro.
Good luck to you in finding a solution,

What else can this be? I feel like fibro is not a def diagnosis ..
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (39 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
there are many things

Detailed Answer:
There are many things that can present with vague symptoms like this. My best guesses of what it could be are some as yet undiagnosed viral syndrome or some as yet undiagnosed autoimmune disease.
The best thing you can do at this point is take care of yourself. Eat healthy food, drink at least 2 liters of water daily, yoga or meditation to reduce stress, exercise daily and take a multivitamin daily.
Close follow up with the rheumatologist would be the best thing you could do as far as medial follow up.

Its definitely not HIV. I have been with my husband for many years, and that is out of the question. I had mono years ago, so I am not sure if this is reactivation, but I was tested for all of this already. I don't understand

why are you saying the worst possible things? what else makes you feel this way? I stopped BC pills when this stuff starting happening to me.

Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (4 hours later)
Brief Answer:
I am not saying worst possible things

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry that this upset you. I am not trying to say the worst possible things. I am just trying to answer your questions. Your situation is very complicated and needs to be followed closely by your local doctors. There is just so much that can be done and figured out online.
You asked me what kind of virus could stay around for 6 months and I just gave you some examples. I did not mean that I thought you had those viruses. Chronic viruses may be involved in illnesses like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Many of these possible viral causes are unknown to us at this time.

Are you saying this can be something else ? One test did show slight elevation for lupus but the Rheumy said it wasn't and to re test again. Can you get fibro after stopping birth control? What else can this be??
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
yes, I am saying this could be something else

Detailed Answer:
We don't really know what triggers fibromyalgia. We know that it is more common in women. There is some speculation that it may have a viral cause (virus unknown at present). Another avenue you may want to pursue is some sort of food intolerance cause. There are doctors that can do food intolerance testing and if your local doctors do not find cause soon you may want to pursue that type of testing.

What else can this be ? You said yes it can be something else
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
food intolerance

Detailed Answer:
Oh, I said it could be something like a food intolerance. There is testing available for this. It is not a standard blood test so you would have to find someone locally that does this form of testing.
Sometimes people have symptoms like this from allergies so seeing an allergist may be helpful also

I went to allergist and he tested the food through blood and allergies he said I have no allergies at all. Your saying the food rest is not through blood ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (58 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
it is blood test

Detailed Answer:
I said it is not a standard blood test. Special testing has to be ordered, but if your allergist did these tests then you are probably not allergic to foods

I have always taken care of myself and still do. This came out of nowhere after I stopped my birth control. You didn't mention auto immune again. How come? What other possible causes am I to explore If I have seen over 7 doctors and have had 10 vials of blood taken??
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kathy Robinson (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
autoimmune

Detailed Answer:
I had already mentioned autoimmune again and so did not think I needed to mention it again.
I have given you every suggestion that I have. I am sorry but I have no more suggestions for you. You really need to follow up with your local doctors
