Question : My wife is 39 yrs old. she is complaining of a dull pain in the left side of the chest since the last couple of days. this increases when she becomes agitated or stressed. she is towards the heavier side. is this alarming? should she be seeing a cardiologist?

Seems this dull chest pain on left side of chest of your wife, seems to be repetitive complaint.
You both are quiet young, though besides stress, obesity is additional risk factor for cardiovascular disease and she should positively be investigated with Cardiologist.
Suggest you to consult Physician specialist first, who would work up your case for the Cardiologist,so that your wife would be given the right treatment soon.
