Question: My husband has been told he has esophageal spasms and put on Carafate and Prilosec. He is now on day two of taking this medication and has noticed his urine is very dark. Is this normal?

I have gone through your query.
If it has occurred post consumption of these agents it need to be evaluated.
When ever on prilosec, if there is a appearance of dark colored urine, it need to be informed to the consultant. Rarely the agent may produce dark colored urine, might be due to increased bilirubin, Your liver function test, need to done, to rule out any injury to liver.
This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.
