Question : urgency to urinate frequenty. Very urine is produced. It is painful like a bladder infection but has lasted too long for that. It has been about two months now. I am not post menapause; however I do take hormone replacements and do not have a period. I take progesterone, DHEA, estradiol, and testtosterone in a topical cream form.

Brief Answer:
urinary infection is likely cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.

Your symptoms are typical of a urinary infection. The frequency of passing urine and lower abdominal pain is characteristic of that. Why you're on the hormone treatment is not clear. You should get your urine routine and culture test, blood routine ,blood sugar tested. If the pain isn't relieved after treatment is over, you should get an Ultrasound scan of the abdomen done.

Till the reports are ready, you can start a Ciprofloxacin tablet twice daily along with an alkalyser syrup in water or lime juice twice or thrice daily, which a doctor will prescribe after examining you. A Phenazo- pyridine tablet may also be taken to reduce the pain along with a mild anti- spasmodic. Drink 10-12 glasses liquids daily.

Get well soon.
