Suggest Remedy For Headaches And Anxiety Issues

Question: The last month I've been suffering from a new type of headache, that feels like a weird pressure on the outside of my head. This sensation is on the back of my head, on the sides and sometimes on the temples. I can also feel this pressure in my jaw, ears and cheeks, but the pressure is always symmetrical. It is not usually painful, but very uncomfortable. I have this type of headache pretty much everyday, but the pressure isn’t always as bad, and sometimes the headache seems to go away for a little while. I get some relief when getting massaged or when stretching out. I also have some tender spots on my head.

The last 4 months I have been having troubles with my stomach and pulse, and my doctor is trying to figure this out. I most likely have an anxiety issue because of this as well. So my original problem wasn’t headaches. And I do worry a lot about my symptoms.

I'm used to having both migraines and other types of headaches, but this is very different. Sometimes I feel a little dizzy and my head feels very heavy, but I do normal stuff like exercise and work. Painkillers do not help. I also have pain in my eyes when I look down or to the sides.

Could this only be related to stress, or should I get this checked out? I'm worried about tumors and other serious stuff, since I basically have this pressure all the time.

Brief Answer:
not related to tumor

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question ans understand your concern.

In my ckinic I am always seeing more and more with symptoms like this. It is peculiar and not always described the same way but it has the same features.

They usually do not reapond to common pain killers. For sure these symptoms are not related to any brain damage like tumor or infection or any other condition which can affect the cerebral parenchima.

The symptoms you describe are usually due to stress and the best treatment is amytriptilline and propanolol. These drugs are used for depression and blood pressure control. But lately there are several studies that support their use in headache.

Talk to your GP about this.

Dont worry. Its totally a benign situation

Best regards

Thank you for your answer!

I just don't know to reduce stress, when it's the constant headache that makes me more stressed.

Could things like sleeping too much and eating too much sugar be a contributing factor?

Sometimes eating sugar will actually relieve the headache a little bit.

It is the fact that the headaches come every day that is worrying me. Is it normal to have a headache constantly?

Brief Answer:
ct scan recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Basically you should follow a strict diet including the sleep and the calory intake. This would help a lot on understanding how headache will behave in front of decreased physical stress.

Still, in front of a continous headache a CT scan is generally recommended to rule out any organic issue contributing on the headache. I do not expect anything particular, but it is usually recommended.

Talk to your GP about this.

Wish you the best health.
