Suggest Remedy For Heavy Bleeding When On HCG Injections

Question : My daughter is 20 years old. She has heavy periods normally. She began the HCG diet injections while she was on her peiod and it continued and got heavier. She stopped the HCG shots for several days and then started again today once her period ended. She just started bleeding again today and very heavy. Her period was over with but now it beagn again. Should she give up on this HCG diet?

Hi,

1. GCG diet won't help much in losing weight. Such drastic diets are not working most of the time.

2. Plus, your daughter is having heavy periods. It is not recommended to take HCG injections while on periods.

HCG is the human chorionic gonadotropin normally secreted during pregnancy. It might alter the blood flow during periods. It has caused her bleeding getting heavier. So, if I was her caring doctor would advise to stop HCG injections until bleeding stops.

Meanwhile, I advise to take iron, folic acid, vit.c and b multivitamins to replace the lost blood. She might have become anemic due to heavy bleeding.

If bleeding will continue should consult with OG specialist for further evaluation.
