Suggest Remedy For Impacted Stool Caused By Severe Constipation

Question: Hi. I have a very large, hard, dry stool that will not pass. I had a normal bowel movement only a day and a half ago......I've had this hard/large stool issue 3 times over past year. In the past, a suppository seemed to work but this time I went right to Fleet Mineral Oil Enema.....passed the oil but no bowel movement. The pressure on the rectum is intense...only relief is jumping in a very hot bath. The stool is about 2-3 inches from anal opening but wont move. Should I go to ER? The urge to go is there it just wont move and causing lots of pain

Brief Answer:
Go To ER, Manual Evacuation.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With the situation presented, i believe these are impacted stools and you should visit ER and let them manually evacuate them and also assess your anal area and tone as i suspect an anal fissure too as with that hard stools and pain on trying to pass stools and getting relief in sitting in warm water or having a hot bath makes it more likely. You may need anal dilation for the fissure as well.

Nutshell, go to ER , get manually evacuated, after that modify diet and lifestyle, sit in warm saline water for 15 minutes every day and adapt good bowel and toilet habits. Talk to a doctor if the symptoms persist.

I hope it helps take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
