default
Posted on Wed, 26 Aug 2015
Question: Dear doctor.

I had a infection lump in my inner thigh.

Doctor gave me some anitbiotics.

After takinb these for a week the lump/cyst has come down. But now its left a small pea sized remaining bit.

My doctor said this happens aometimes.

Is there anything concerning about this?

I have 1 more day of the course left.

The lump was around 2 inches when it first came up.

The location is on the inner upper thigh around 3 inhes away from testicles.

Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
Not worrying

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is not concerning, since there was obviously an abscess that shrinked due to antibiotic course, and there is usually residual subcutaneous knot called postinflammatory fibroma that may persist few weeks and in some cases be permanently present. It can be later surgically removed under local anesthesia if there is pain or aesthetic concern. Wish you good health. Regards
