Question : Hi doctor I suffered from tight forskin I'm am 44 years of ages suffered from this a long time 10 years but it never bothered me but recently starting getting problems one was very itchy penis redness and a greeny yellow discharge just had a curcumcsion was advised by doctor know exposed it's very sensitive and can know see the redness and the discharge that comes out was given fusidic acid before the opp to apply couldn't apply it properly as couldn't get to the penis head proberly am wAiting to see my doc but shall I contunie to use the cream or not is it a worring thing at moment am very sensitive down there been 5 days know will things get better will it be normal

Hi dear.Thanks for your query.

Foreskin/tip of penis normally takes 7-10 days to heal after circumcision.Initial few days it will be very sensitive and sore.

As per your description i would recommend-
a.To do culture sensitivity test for the discharge and choose an antiobiotic depending on sensitivity of the organism.Result take atleast 2 days.Greenish yellow discharge and itchiness is suggestive of infection.

b.Continue to use the cream.Seek help of an attender(spouse) to apply the cream.

c.Use warm compress locally so that it soothes and reduces redness giving you relief.

d.Suggest tab.Ibuprofen 400mg(analgesic) thrice daily after food for 5 days.

e. It is important to practice good hygiene and avoid friction locally.

Donot panic.You shall get well soon.

Can you please explain more details answer c warm compress locally also is it better to leave the penis in open air as possible or keep snugged

Hi dear.Thanks for the quick revert.

Warm compress means to dip a clean cloth in XXXXXXX warm to warm water and place it on the affected area for 3-5 minutes.Repeat every 2-4 hours for 3-5 days.This will helps the inflammation to subside. Donot keep the penis in open air since it might dry.

Keep it snugged but at the same time avoid friction.

Nope.It does not affect the health of your penis.Nothing to worry.

Circumcision is in fact healthy since the smegma doesnot collect underneath the foreskin.
