Brief Answer:
Inflammatory bowel disease should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
You are having blood and mucus diarrhea for the past one year.
Inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis is the possible cause.
I would advise you to get a colonoscopy test done for confirmation of the diagnosis.
In this test, a long slender tube is inserted through the anal opening to look inside the large bowel and if needed biopsy may be done.
A complete blood count and a stool test should also be done.
Consult your gastroenterologist for colonoscopy.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
