Question : Hi there. Well I've been unable to get into my usual doctor & have put off going now but maybe I shouldn't have . About 2 months ago I woke up with terrible pain in my lower abdominal lower left side & hips were aching petty bad. I had a very full bladder as a usually get up at night to go to the toilet and was surprised I didn't. This happened for about 4 nights in a row and now only at night I've been getting lower abdominal pain & left lower side pain and my lower back & hips hurt sometime to get up or out of bed or even turn in bed which has never happened before I don't usually get pain of any kind. I am getting up to go to the toilet as usual but to pass urine seemed a bit slower than usual. When it first happens I did notice my urine was quite yellow and had a smell & then down. The track cloudy and still can be but not dark anymore. I have a pain in my lower left side as I type this email. What do you think I should do or maybe have

Pain in the left lower quadrant could occur due to many different causes. Some of the common causes are diverticulitis, urinary tract infection and pelvic inflammatory disease.

Since you have mentioned you have trouble with urination and that your urine was yellow, smelling and cloudy, urinary tract infection should be considered first.

A urinalysis may be done to confirm it.

You may need a course of antibiotics.

Drink lot of fluids and also drink cranberry juice which will provide some relief.

What would happen if I dont get antibiotics . Will it clear up by itself or will I do damage to my system

Will damage the system only if it spreads to the kidneys.

Hi,
It will damage the system only if the organisms spread to the kidneys.
Drink enough fluids to flush them off and also drink cranberry juice which will provide some relief.

As suggested get an urinalysis done to plan further treatment.
