Question : I think my back pain is getting worse and exercises are hard. I have had pain in lower back and thighs for about 4 weeks. I am in physical therapy and take acetaminophen. Do you think I will begin to improve?

Brief Answer:
It can be sciatica.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to sciatica. A consultation with an orthopedician is well appreciated to rule out the condition. X ray followed by MRI will needed in case of positive signs of it.

Acetaminophen and physical therapy alone won't be helpful for this. In such case i would suggest NSAIDs like Aceclofenac , muscle relaxants like tolperisone and neurotropic drugs. You can do hot fomentation on back at home. Physiotherapy like TENS will be helpful also. Physical therapy like muscle strengthening exercises can be started after 5 days. You can also wear lumbar corsets. Sleep on hard mattress also.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
