Question : I had a complete laparoscopy assisted vaginal hysterectomy and bladder repair 16 days ago . Today I went from loose stools to diarrhea with cramping and lower back pain . I have been eating very bland foods ( had nothing but a baked potatoe for dinner) last night . Having rectal pain and pressure....
Brief Answer:
You can take imodium.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The loose stools and diarrhea can cause the lower back pain but it is not likely to be related to the surgery. This can be due to an intestinal infection.
You can take Lomofen / Imodium or Imodium A-D for relief. Do take it thrice a day till the diarrhea subsides. It will take care of a viral infection. In case the diarrhea is persistent then do consult your physician for proper prescriptions.
Do increase your fluid intake till then.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
