Question : My daughter is having lower right abdomen pain and it feels like she is being stabbed. We have been dealing with this issue for almost a year. Back in October she had her appendix removed but she is still having the same pain as before the surgery.

Brief Answer:
It could be a Gynecological problem. That is the second commonest cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, If all the above investigations have been done and all are normal then the only possible cause could be some Gynecological problem like Ovarian pathology. Please see a Gynecologist if you have not had a Gynecological exam.
It could be Pelvic Inflammatory disease.
If they have ruled that out, then it can only possibly be Intestinal problem but since colonoscopy is clear then cant say.
Please see a Gynecologist and let us know if all that is normal.
Another query is what was the Histopathology report of the removed appendix? Was it inflamed?
That information could be important.

We did see a gynecologist thinking it was endometriosis so the doctor went in to see if that is what it was and found the appendix to be kind of hard so a surgeon was called in to remove it and they found no endometriosis and the doctor said she looked really healthy. Should we consider doing a lower colonoscopy? Could it be a pinched nerve? While she was inside her could the doctor tell if her pelvic area and ovaries were okay?

They found a carcinoid tumor in her appendix once it was removed. But her oncologist said the tumor is not what is causing the pain.

Brief Answer:
See a Surgical Oncologist and Gynecologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for your reply.
If it was a Carcinoid then she can have pains related to the disease. I suggest you to see an Oncosurgeon who could examine her and advice accordingly. I definitely suggest screening her Ovaries for similar disease. But the best person to advice upon it would be a Surgical Oncologist and Gunecology evaluation is required.
Take care.
