Question : Hello, my husband has developed a medium sized golf ball lump in back of his head under his scalp,painless but now starting to branch out into finger shapes, his navel button also has a walnut sized painless lump next to it, the lumps have be growing for a year. He has a perfect checkup every time, no other complaints accept recently he does not get up at night to urinate but in the morning his urine looks almost red. Is this something to worry about?

Hi and thanks for the query,

Considering the fact that it is painless and he has no other health issues is reassuring. However, just for the fact that it only started a year ago and it is evolving in my opinion deserves a look from a dermatologist so we could be on a very safe side. Not so urgent but I think important.

With regards to the urine, it depends whether he drinks as usual or if he has decreased. Drinking less will lead one to urinate less too. It is utmost importance to clearly distinguish concentrated urine from some blood in urine. Drinking more should make urine less concentrated. However, doing a rapid urine test (dip stick) to check for blood in urine should be done.
