Suggest Remedy For Mucus Around Ventricles Of Heart

Posted on Fri, 3 Jun 2016
Question: My son is 52 on disability with severe asthma and constant back problems. His heart doctor's assistant told him he had mucous around the ventricles of his heart that showed up on a test he had last year.
What can be done to help this. They are asking to have his BP checked and if he has further problems with that to come in earlier than the 6-weeks appointment they gave him.
Is there anything that can be done about the mucous? They said it could turn into heart failure. ??

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

First of all untreated hypertension especially in patients with severe asthma will lead him to heart failure. This is why he should treat hypertension in order to reduce the risk of heart failure.

In order to give you a more accurate answer about the mucous around the ventricles I would like to check by myself his medical records especially his cardiac echo report. Can you upload his reports so I will check by myself?

I'm waiting for the requested data to be uploaded!
Wish you health!

I don't have the test results. When he has many of his symptoms he gets very forgetful and doesn't always present his problems to his advantage. I will try to get his records and send them to you. Should I sign off or just leave it there while I get the records? It will take awhile.

I am emailing the first page of the echo test report. I had big time problems loading the whole thing. It kept loading the first page over and over. I will keep trying to send the others. I hope this is sufficient. XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

After reviewing a part of his echocardiogram I would like to say that he has a concentric myocardial hypertrophy which is caused by uncontrolled hypertension.

Also there's evidence of enlarged left and righ atrium and aortal calcification. This findings didn't cause any problems but he should monitor his heart once a year.

In order to keep the things stabilised and under control he should start treating hypertension.

However I would like to have all his reports not only the first page.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

Thank you for your information. I will try to send the next two pages. I don't know about any other records. I do have a copy of his going to an emergency room in the middle of a trip out of state. His friend took him there, they wanted to admit him, but he felt obligated to carry on with the trip so he left a.d.o. He did see his regular cardiologist four days later with no tests.
I will try to get those to you. I will try to scan them and get them to you, posthaste.

I am going to close this down n I am having so much trouble with my computer.
I am going to urge him to seek more help with his BP, and I appreciate you kindness and information. You have been very helpful.

Hopefully I can use you information in the futur

The big problem here in Florida with getting records is that with Medicare Advantage you have to change doctors over and over again. Right now in my County, there is a dirth of general practictioners of whom much depends. We don't have Obamacare and everything is nebulus. So one has to go to many places to get records. Another thing, my son was going to one doctor and they changed computer systems and lost his records. I tried to suggest an approach to recover them but was told it was too late. It gets very frustrating. Straightout Medicare just doesn't cover enough. We have some doctors that are no longer accepting Medicare and many more that don't take Medicaid. I don't blame them because the amounts paid to them is not worth it. Medicaid is even worse in the amounts and many times they refuse to pay at all.
