Question : Hi, I have been having muscle and joint pain for the last couple years. Swollening of the hands and feet also. I always handle the pain with no meds. Ibuprofen at most with little relief.
The last year it has gotten increasingly worst and fatigue has set in with it. I try and treat it with walking and exercise to relieve the pain. My pain on a scale of 1-10, I would rate at 5-8 depending on the time of day.is
How do I control this what is the issues.
I am a healthy male, 6'3" 195lb. with no other health problems and take no other meds.

Brief Answer:
Polyarthralgia needs few investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Repeated back and joint pains can be due to multiple causes at this age the commonest being poly arthralgia. Other causes can be rheumatoid arthritis, gout, inflammatory diseases like SLE, bursitis, fibromyalgia, etc. For proper diagnosis, some of the blood tests are advisable like-
1. Serum calcium levels.
2. Serum Uric acid levels.
3. RA factor
4. ESR and CRP
5. Serum Creatinine
6. X-ray of affected joints.
You need a thorough clinical examination followed by investigations under the guidance of an orthopedician.
Till then for symptomatic relief, you can take over the counter analgesics, do hot fomentation and apply local analgesic gel on the affected areas.

I hope this answers your query.
