Suggest Remedy For Occasional Double Vision When Tired

Question : I went to my Optician and he noticed at the back of both my eyes a whited out area like a halh moon size. He has referred me to my GP and they want me to have an eye test with a specialist. I have no symtons but have suffered from double vision when I'm really tired and occassionaly I see white / black spots around me but very occasionaly.

Is this something I need to worry about and could you let me know what it could possibly mean?
