Suggest Remedy For Pain And Soreness On Lungs When Suffering From Mild Asthma

I have had mild asthma for 10+ years and never had an asthma attack. This morning I woke up in a panic attack and found it difficult to breath. Just in case, I took my reliever, Ventolin. After I calmed down, I felt okay and went back to sleep.
I woke up a few hours later and my lungs were sore and if I breath in really deeply, it hurts my lungs.
I rarely ever take my reliever, only when playing sport. Could my lungs be sore because I shouldn't have taken the reliever? Or could it be anxiety?
Thanks.
Better to get done PFT first.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, I don't think it is panic attack.
In my opinion, you should get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out worsening of asthma.
Viral infection is the most common cause for worsening of asthma.
And it is also not due to not using reliever medicines.
Reliever medicines are considered as rescue medicine and given as and when required.
Controller medicines should be continued regularly.
So PFT is must in your case for the diagnosis of worsening of underlying asthma.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of asthma is based on severity only.
You may need additional bronchodilators and oral antihistamines.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

Get done chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
No need to worry much for this.
This is not life threatening.
Please let me know
1. Do you have coughing?
2. Do you have sputum production?
3. Do you have lung pain more on coughing?
Your pain can be pleuritic pain. So chest x ray is needed to rule out pleurisy (inflammation of pleura).
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
