Question : 6 months ago I had back surgery. L4 & L5 were fused and I had a couple brackets put in. But my problem now started about 2 1/2 weeks ago with tingling up the left side of my back. Pain in the left side of my bum and pain down my left leg. It has gotten so bad that I can't hardly walk and I'm losing control of my bowels. I have an appointment on Tues with my surgeon but I'm wondering if I should go to the ER now?

It could be fusion hardware failure with associated spinal cord stenosis that is causing your symptoms.

It is a condition that may progress in short time and can worsen further your symptoms, so, in my opinion, you should go to ER and get medical evaluation, probably imaging studies too.
