Question : I have had deep left arm aching for about 2 months. Sometimes my muscles ache all over for a few minutes. I wake up with numbness and tingling and achy hand joints. All of my blood work has come back normal as well as X-rays. An MRI of my Cspine revealed very slight herniation of. C4,5 and 6. Radiologist and dr both stated its not enough to Be causing my pain. Sometimes the ache is in my left leg as well. All of my numbers have been good. Blood pressure is not high. I had this ache in August but my right arm, right leg, then it moved to left arm. I really don't know what to do now. Dr has no idea what to think.

Brief Answer:
Repetitive stress injuries and vitamin B12 deficiency can be a reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. As there is slight herniation in cervical spine pain can be caused by this by repetitive stress like sleeping with high pillows , wrong positions while sleeping etc. Another reason can be vitamin B12 deficiency. You can run a blood test to find your blood levels of vitamin B12.

I would suggest you to sleep in hard mattress and use an orthopedic neck pillow instead of normal pillow. Also use the U shaped neck pillow while sitting. Avoid leaning in front of monitor or for looking into XXXXXXX Always keep neck straight. This will improve your symptoms. You can also do Physiotherapy like TENS after consulting a physiotherapist.

If B12 is low taking B12 supplements will be helpful to get relief from your symptoms.

Please upload your MRI reports and blood reports if possible which will be more helpful in analysing your problem.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

I dont have the images yet from the radiologist but the b12..Wouldnt that have been included in my bloodwork? He was testing for inflammation and autoimmune issues as well as cbc panel..

Brief Answer:
Then better to check vitamin B12 and D levels in blood.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

Then it is better to check your blood levels of vitamin B12 and D. If test for inflammation and autoimmune conditions is clear then possibilities of rheumatological diseases also can be ruled out. If B12 and D is low taking supplements will be helpful.

Let me know if anything not clear. I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
