Question : I've had a persistent dry cough and some occasional lung pain when taking a deep breath accompanied by varying degrees of loose stool or diarrhea for about a month. About two weeks in I took a course of amoxycillen (I had an unused course and self prescribed it) which did not help. Some days the cough is light and I am encouraged it is disappearing, but it returns. Same with the diarrhea. I don't see any obvious matches in the disease list.

Hello Sir

If I am your doctor,would have advised not to take amoxy plain..You should go for broad spectrum antibiotic like Meropenem 500mg twice a day.Loose stools is becoz of unfavorable flora condition and the drug robitussin(which you took for cough) in your gut.Drink good amount of oral fluids including yoghurt,curd..Before your regular meal its wise to have any citrus fruit juice.This will enhance assimilation .
