Suggest Remedy For Persistent Heartburn, Abdominal Pain, Fatigue And Nausea

Question: Male 21 yrs old . Having the following symptoms for a year: Feeling full ,Heartburn,Regurgitation, stomach ache , Coughing &especially after eating, Clearing throat a lot ,swollen lymph node on the side of the neck (below the jaw) that comes and goes, unexplained weight loss (15 kg in 12 mths) without diet , nausea , fatigue. Cbc & esr normal . Barium x ray on abdomen normal. no diabetes

What could be causing those symptoms ? And what other tests / diagnostic procedures must we do to determine the cause of those symptoms ? Thanks

I read carefully all your concerns and I understood your query.

You are reporting to have heart burn, regurgitation, stomach ache, cough after eating, nausea and fatigue.
You symptoms seems to be typical for GERD ( acid reflux) or stomach issues like ulcer, gastritis.

This is why strongly recommend doing:
- upper endoscopy
-manometry and 12h Ph monitoring
- abdominal ultrasound

With regards to stress it can cause acid reflux, stomach ache and aggravate your symptoms. On the other hand GERD (acid reflux) can cause / or aggravate anxiety and stress.

Moreover, I would like to suggest dong the following measures to relieve your symptoms:
- Eat often and in small portions
- Eat a healthy diet reach in vegetables and fresh fruits, poor in fats and diary products
- Avoid coffe, chocolate, alcohol and spicy food
- Avoid unnecessary stress
- Increase physical and recreational activities
- Avoid laying down directly after the meals (wait at least 3 hour before going to bed)
- Use 2-3 pillows when you lay down to bed
- Use Prilosec OTC 2 times per day
- Use antacids (Gaviscon OTC) 3-4 times per day.

Thanks Dr . So gerd can also cause a swollen lymph node in the neck ( on side of neck) under my jaw, weight loss . Also i cough a lot it is worse after eating and usually throughout the day i need to clear my throat a lot

GERD can cause inflammation on throat.Swollen lymhp nodes as a response to this inflammation.
Cough after eating is typical for GERD and especially for LPR( laryngeal- pharyngeal reflux).

With regards to weight lose it is not typical for GERD, but it can be due to stress and reduced food intake.

Otherwise examinations that I mentioned above will determine if it is something serious in abdominal area and stomach.
