Question : Hi. I have had a terrible problem for the last four months. My only symptons are nausea and reflux. The nausea is magnified when I lay down at night. I feel terrible but walking around is better than laying down. It seems that any type of exertion brings the condition on more rapidly. I am only 27 years old, I am not overweight, and have never had a health issue. I was drinking quite a bit of beer daily for the last few years but quit doing that about a month ago. What are the possible conditions that could be causing this?

Brief Answer:
Gastritis , GERD, IBS? needs life adjustments.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With normal work up, acid reflux and nausea can be attributed to either gastritis or GERD, you need to modify diet and lifestyle as that will help. First of all quitting that beer you drink quite often as that is the commonest cause of these gastric discomforts. Eat small frequent meals, avoid spices, dairy products, fatty foods, fast foods, processed foods, canned products . Prefer natural and fresh foods , vegetables , fruits , fiber rich foods and use peppermint and probiotics. Former is best antispasmodic and later is best probiotic. Avoid chocolates and sweets . Delay lyig down after the meal. keep the head side of the bed elevated.

If you have deranged bowel habits too along with nausea and acid reflux . then IBS should be considered. Slight life adjustments will fix the issue.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
