Question : I have had diarrhea for 2 months...it is explosive...ive dropped 20. Lbs without trying. My appetite is poor. Dr put me on linzess but it hasnt stopped the diarrhea although it did calm thr cramping. I wake up drenched in sweat...im shaking a lot...constantly burning up...recent ct showed mild thickening of the adrenal glands...can you suggest what i should do?

It must be very debilitating to have diarrhea for 2 months, I strongly suggest you to get yourself evaluated as soon as possible to know the root cause of diarrhea

1. Swelling of the adrenals could mean that the serum cortisol is high, high cortisol can lead to diarrhea. This also explains excessive sweating
2. Thyroid dysfunction can lead to diarrhea
3. I recommend a colonoscopy and biopsy of the mucosa to rule out inflammatory bowel disease
4. One good drug to reduce diarrhea is Tab Racecodotril, it can be taken three times a day and has shown good results
5. One last thing, if you have been sexually exposed to a high risk individual please get a HIV test done, HIV often leads to chronic diarrhea
