Question : I been diagnosed with post nasal drip. Why when I lay down and go to sleep no urge to cough. first hour in morning no coughing occurs. During day there is a tickle. If it was real serious would it go away and come back like that.

It doesn't sound like you might have a mild case of postnasal drainage. This can sometimes be triggered by allergies. There are a number of options that you can try to alleviate her symptoms.

Antihistamine medication can sometimes be helpful. This includes Diphenhydramine preparations , also a mild Cortizone nasal spray might be reasonable to use for a couple of days to see if this helps resolve your symptoms(but please check into your local physician prior to this to get a prescription for these)

I do not think the symptoms that you have reflect a serious condition. Again it might be just due to allergies and inflammation in your nasal and sinus passage ways.
