Suggest Remedy For Racing Heart At Night

Question: I am trying to work out if I am having episodes of A-Fib or waking up from bad dreams with an adrenalin surge as I am very anxious.
Almost every night I awake from a bad dream with my heart racing to about 130b.p.m. which slows down gradually over the next ten to fifteen minutes. Here are 4 traces taken on an Omron hand held ECG Monitor at these times. Please can you tell me if you can see ANY A-Fib in these tracings and if so how much and should I be worried.

Brief Answer:
No clue for atrial fibrillation&following advice..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through the ECG reports you send in, and I did not find clue for atrial fibrillation but for sinusal tachycardia (raised heart rate without any sign of arrhythmia, ie the kind of raised heart rate you get when you exercise) .

At this point, I advise to :
- run thyroid function test
- avoid caffeinated drinks
- try to cope with stress
- avoid eating just before going to bed
- take chamomile/valeriana/aloe vera supplementation (tea, pills, etc.)
- discuss with your cardiologist to start betablocker medication.
- next time, try not use a digital (market) ECG Monitor, but discuss with your cardiologist to get Holter monitoring.

Hope it helped!
